Urbanism Next Conference

Urbanism Next is meant to be a resource for those interested in technology and the built environment. It is particularly targeted towards urban designers, architects, planners, landscape architects and developers.

The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and the Oregon Chapter ASLA are partnering with the University of Oregon, the National and Oregon chapters of the American Planning Association, the American Institute of Architects and the Urban Land Institute Northwest to hold the 2nd Annual Urbanism Next Conference in Portland, Ore. The event aims to bring together planners, architects, landscape architects, developers, academics and more to discuss ways to enhance urban spaces in America.

The first Urbanism Next Conference, which was held in March of 2018, featured presentations that analyzed the ways technology affects cities. This year's conference will focus on how to harness new technology to change cities for the better.

The conference will be held May 7-9, 2019 at the Oregon Convention Center. Any questions about the event can be directed to the Urbanism Next project manager, Amanda Howell, at
