The park, in Atlanta's historic Fourth Ward neighborhood, was one of the first redevelopment projects undertaken by Atlanta BeltLine. The former brownfield sites are now civic spaces with open lawns, a splash pad, playgrounds, historic artifacts, art, a skate park, a multiuse field and a large event greensward. The net-zero energy usage policy includes photovoltaic solar arrays, use of stormwater for irrigation, recycled materials and establishment of urban forest and native meadows. The park connects directly to the future 22-mile BeltLine loop. WPi provided community input sessions, designs, construction documents and permitting services for the award-winning phase II of the 4th Ward Park.
