ASLA Announces 2014 Class of Fellows

Jennifer Guthrie, ASLA, founding partner of Gustafson Guthrie Nichol in Seattle, was nominated to the 2014 Class of Fellows for her landscape architecture work. The results of her design work can be seen at the Seattle Civic Center campus, Lurie Garden at Millennium Park in Chicago and the Art Institute of Chicago. Her clients have also included the Smithsonian Institution and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Her current work includes the Lower Rainier Vista project at the University of Washington, the UW School of Medicine South Lake Union campus, Nu Skin's corporate headquarters, and the Mercer Hall/UW Farm site, which combines student housing with urban agriculture.

The American Society of Landscape Architects has selected its 2014 Class of Fellows. This year, 32 members join the ASLA Council of Fellows, among the association's highest honors. The investiture of the 2014 Class of Fellows will be held Nov. 23 at a dinner in the Hyatt Regency Denver.

Each of the new Fellows was nominated under one of four categories: works, leadership and management, knowledge, and service.

The designation "Fellow" is conferred on ASLA members for exceptional accomplishments over a sustained period of time. Eligibility requires a person be a full member of ASLA in good standing for at least 10 years, and recommended to the Council of Fellows by the executive committee of his or her's local chapter, the executive committee of ASLA or the executive committee of the Council of Fellows.

The LASN Nov. issue will showcase the entire 2014 ASLA Class of Fellows and their biographies, but for the moment, here is the new class.
