Down Under National Landscape Architecture Award Winners

Rio Tinto Naturescape at Kings Park is a discovery and learning center in a bushland setting. The design includes outdoor classrooms, Kulunga Gully, The Tangle, Dingo Dens Hide'n Seek, Paperbark Creek, Billabong, a conservation area, the Prickly Thicket, a spring and a wetland.

The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) has announced its 2012 annual award winners

Among the awards was the AILA National Landscape Architecture Award of Excellence in planning, which went to Plan E for the Rio Tinto Naturescape at the Kings Park & Botanic Gardens in West Perth (Western Australia). Rio Tinto Naturescape is a play space with a ''natural'' water elements, wood sculptures and pathways in a bushland setting.

Plan E is a leading Western Australia landscape architectural firm in Subiaco, a western suburb of Perth. The firm has completed a wide range of projects in the Perth metropolitan area involving land development, land management, recreation, education, infrastructure, health and urban design.
