Florida Citrus Holdings Acquires Turfgrass America

NAPLES, Fla.--Florida Citrus Holdings, LLC has acquired a controlling interest in Turfgrass America, the largest sod production company in the United States. The company's primary lines of business include sod production for the landscape market, retail sod sales, and sports turf production and installation. Turfgrass America has operations in Texas, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Arizona and California. Turfgrass America's retail business includes sales of sod through Home Depot, Lowe's, Wal Mart, and independent lawn/garden stores throughout the U.S. The company also sells and installs turf at football stadiums, golf courses and other sports venues around the country. Past projects include Reliant Stadium in Houston, Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, and the Miami Beach Golf Club. "We are looking forward to the resources and expertise that Florida Citrus Holdings brings to Turfgrass America," said Arthur Milberger, a founder of Turfgrass America. Florida Citrus Holdings is jointly owned by the New York-based private investment firm Reservoir Capital Group and Collier Enterprises, of Naples, Florida.
