Green Industry Hall of Fame Inductees

The Green Industry Hall of Fame held its annual inauguration ceremony at the Los Alamitos Race Course in Cypress, Calif. This year, 7 well-regarded professionals from the industry were honored.


Dr. John Kabashima gave the introductory speech for James Bethke (UCCE).

On Saturday, May 19, staff members of Landscape Communications Inc. cordially attended the 2018 Green Industry Induction Ceremony located at the historic Los Alamitos Race Course in Cypress, Calif.

The night was filled with laughter and good food, as seven juggernauts from different branches of the green industry were inaugurated into the Green Industry Hall of Fame. Esteemed guests, from all over the country, were in attendance at the prestigious banquet.

In order to receive the induction, each recipient was nominated by someone else in the profession and has met certain qualifications, which are as follows:
o Having integrity and passion
o Minimum 20 years in industry
o Developed or invented new technology
o Has made contributions that resulted in change
o Contributed to mankind's needs in his field
o Provided education and encouragement with self-sacrifice
o Changed the industry

Esteemed guests from around the nation attended the dinner. The televisions located around the room displayed photos of the inductees as well as live coverage of the horse races happening right outside.

Inductees received an introductory speech by a person of their choice, and then gave a speech themselves. Mark Pedicone (Green Industry Hall of Fame 2015) was the master of ceremonies for the evening.

The Green Industry Hall of Fame was formed in 2005 with the mission "To honor and preserve the contributions of those exceptional individuals who have served the green industry."

This year marks the 13th annual ceremony and increases the total number of inductees to 75. One thing worth mentioning, Landscape Communications Inc. founder George Schmok was inducted in 2014.
