IA and AOLP Partner Up
AOLP Courses Offered at Irrigation Show

The IA, an organization for irrigation companies and professionals, and the AOLP, an organization for outdoor lighting professionals, have teamed up to offer wiring courses at the 2016 Irrigation Show, Dec. 5-9 in Las Vegas, Nev.

The Irrigation Association and the Association of Outdoor Lighting Professionals have created an affiliation to bring the irrigation and lighting industries together through education, certification, and knowledge sharing.

The first byproduct of this affiliation is the offering of the certified low voltage lighting technician exam at the 2016 Irrigation Show in Las Vegas, Dec. 5-9. Created to address the lack of standards for low voltage outdoor lighting, the CLVLT exam is administered by AOLP to measure the knowledge and capabilities of applicants regarding 12-volt systems.

The test consists of a written exam and seven half-hour labs. Preregistration is required; on-site registration will not be available. Register for the CLVLT exam at The exam at the Irrigation Show will take place on December 6.

In addition, there will be three wiring education programs offered at the Irrigation Show: Electrical Troubleshooting Diagnosing Field Wiring Problems (Dec. 5, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.), Advanced Irrigation Wiring Methods and Troubleshooting (Dec. 5, 1 - 5 p.m.), and Two-Wire Technology Systems for Landscapes (Dec. 7, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.). Each half-day session will help diagnose and prevent wiring and electrical problems. Courses are $125 for members and $165 for nonmembers.
