John P. Gwozdz

Meridian Associates, Inc., a central main firm specializes in land development services that feature landscape architecture is pleased to announce that John P. Gwozdz, was recently accredited with two significant professional accomplishments. Mr. Gwozdz earned both his licensure in landscape architecture, as well as becoming Meridian's newest LEED Certified team member; the first from the Westborough Metrowest office. He is a registered member of United States Green Building Council, American Society of Landscape Architects, and American Society of Landscape Architects.

The Wagner Companies has announced the appointment of Richard A. Kettler as president, chief operating officer of their Milwaukee-based manufacturing and distribution operations. Previous President, Robert A. Wagner, will continue his affiliation with the company in the role of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Richard De Palma

Richard De Palma, ASLA, principal of Landscape Development Inc.'s northern design division has achieved LEED Accreditation. Landscape Development is now offering LEED consultation to clients and continues to be on the forefront of energy efficient design.

Hubbell Lighting, Inc., a leader in lighting technology, announced that Bill Foley has been promoted to vice president and general manager for both Kim Lighting and Architectural Area Lighting in a newly created combined position. Foley, who joined Kim Lighting in 2007, was previously vice president and general manager of Kim Lighting.

Glenn Tyson

Vista Professional Outdoor Lighting announced the appointment of industry innovator Glenn Tyson as director of engineering. He will oversee the development of new product offerings for both the line-voltage and the low-voltage architectural and landscape lighting markets and will assume immediate responsibility for a large portfolio of new products and product enhancements already underway.

Progressive Design Playgrounds designer and manufacturer of environmentally friendly commercial playground equipment, natural playgrounds, safety surfacing and recreation site furnishings, announced the company has relocated its corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility to 2458 South Santa Fe Avenue, Vista, CA 92084.

Timothy G. Psomas

Timothy G. Psomas, P.E. will take over as the new chairman of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) on May 1, 2009. ACEC is the national voice of America's engineering industry, representing 5,500 member engineering firms across the nation. Psomas is chairman of the board of Psomas, one of the top-ranked engineering firms in the nation.

Jason Hale and Scott Southall

CDP Engineers an award winning design and environmental multi-dispensary firm is pleased to announce Jason Hale, ASLA, LEED AP and Scott Southall, ASLA, AICP, LEED AP have recently passed the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design examination for Accredited Professional (LEED AP).

Nowak and Fraus Engineers is pleased to announce that the U.S. Green Building Council as a LEED accredited professional has accredited George A. Ostrowski, J.R., RLA. Mr. Ostrowski has been the manager of NFE's land planning and landscape architectural department since 2003.

Andrew J. Kriemelmeyer

Derck & Edson Associates, with offices in Lancaster County and Centre County, is pleased to announce that Andrew J. Kriemelmeyer, RLA has earned his Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) certificate from the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), demonstrating a proficiency in the fundamentals and formats of construction documents as prescribed by CSI. Construction Documents Technologist candidates must demonstrate their knowledge of the CSI's recommended practices in the construction process, contractual relationships, and use of construction documents. CSI is a national association dedicated to creating standards and formats to improve construction documents and project delivery.

Richard W Gibney

Richard W Gibney RLA of Wading River, NY has been appointed as the chairman of the ornamental horticulture department external review committee at Farmingdale State College. Mr. Gibney is the president of Gibney Design Landscape Architecture PC and a graduate of Farmingdale State College (formerly SUNY Farmingdale). He also has a degree from Cornell University and serves on the board of the Planting Fields Foundation since 1999. He is the current president of the New York State Council of Landscape Architects and past president of the NYASLA and the Design Professionals Coalition of Long Island.

Architectural Area Lighting, announced that M.J. Paul has been promoted to vice president, brand management. Previously, Paul was director of marketing for Kim Lighting and prior to that served as marketing communications manager for Prescolite. Architectural Area Lighting, Kim Lighting and Prescolite are all business units of Hubbell Lighting, Inc.

Mark L. Johnson, ASLA, of Ecotone Land Design, Inc. in Kissimmee, Florida was selected to participate in a recent AIA Sustainable Design Assessment Team to Windsor, CA. Johnson also served on an SDAT team to Forest City, NC, in 2005.
