Leo Urban and Charles S. Cohen

Leo Urban, landscape architect and founder of Urban Associates, Inc., has recently received a "Stars of Design" award for the category of urban design from the Design Center of the Americas in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Charles S. Cohen, President/CEO, Design Center of the America presented this prestigious award.

Frederick A. Leone

Frederick A. Leone was recently named Boundless Playgrounds' chief executive officer to advocate for children of all abilities. Boundless Playgrounds, the first national nonprofit dedicated to helping communities create inclusive playgrounds where children with and without disabilities can play together was founded in 1997 in West Hartford, Connecticut.

Warren-Paulus, Sokolowski and Sartor (PS&S) has announced the following executive promotions: Thomas Scally, AIA has been promoted to associate principal. Mr. Scally, a licensed architect, is responsible for the design and construction of various projects. Glen Kustera, PE, SE has been promoted to associate principal. Mr. Kustera will serve as project manager for the design of commercial, educational, institutional, industrial and healthcare facilities projects. George Reichert has been promoted to associate principal. Jamie McDonald has been promoted to associate principal. Mr. McDonald is the director of human resources, for the firm.

Mark Kopchell, ASLA has changed the name of his firm from Mary Smith Associates to MKA Landscape Architects. MKA will continue as a full service landscape architecture firm offering high quality land design and planning services to clients throughout the New England region.

Rich O'Brien

Wade Trim a leading civil engineering and planning firm recently announced that landscape architect Rich O'Brien earned the distinction of registered landscape architect (RLA). Rich O'Brien works in Wade Trim's land development group where he uses site planning, landscape architecture and construction administration experience to work on a variety of projects including residential and commercial designs, site redevelopment designs, roadway improvements and park designs.

Tim Scharnagle

Sternberg Lighting of Roselle, Illinois is pleased to announce the promotion of Tim Scharnagle to vice president of sales, from national sales manager. Scharnagle will be responsible for handling the entire sales team and overseeing worldwide sales.

Tom McDaniel

Landscape Development, Inc., (LDI) in Valencia, CA appointed Tom McDaniel, ASLA, to the position of director of design build services. Working with Tom, are Steve Shirrel, ASLA, and Rich De Palma, ASLA. Steve is principal of landscape architecture for the Southern division and Rich is principal of landscape architecture for the northern division, covering Los Angeles and Ventura counties along with the Central Valley/ coastal regions.

Bill Archdeacon

CLC Associates, Inc., a national planning, entitlements, architecture, engineering, landscape architecture and land surveying firm, is pleased to announce that Bill Archdeacon has joined the firm as vice president and manager of the Denver office.

Eric Swanson, PE, a civil engineer has joined BSC Group as a project manager. Jeremy Alexander

Dwyer DesignScapes, a Louisville landscape architecture design-build firm, has named Jeremy Alexander as a graduate landscape architect.

Graham Landscape Architecture has received an honor award for residential design from the Maryland/Potomac Chapter of ASLA for its WYE Hall project.

Smith National, Inc. The name change brings together R.A. Robert Desmond

Desmond is a licensed landscape architect who holds a master in landscape architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, along with a bachelor of landscape architecture and a minor in geology from Utah State University.
