ValleyCrest Landscape Companies announced the promotion of Caroline Weilert to vice president of marketing, a newly created position. Weilert joined the Calabasas, Calif. based firm in 2005 and served as director of marketing, following nearly 15 years in the marketing and public relations industry. Over the past two years, Weilert has assumed greater responsibility for leading the marketing efforts of the company including building a strong team of six internal marketing specialists, establishing a market-leading brand vision and producing a wide range of materials to support and solidify the company's growing presence both nationally and internationally.

Ralph Gessner

Neptune Chemical Pump Co., a leading producer of chemical metering pumps and chemical feed systems with a major presence in the irrigation, agricultural, sports turf, and water and wastewater markets, has announced that Ralph Gessner has assumed the position of vice president/general manager of Neptune Chemical Pump Co. In this role, he will report directly to Dean Douglas, president of the Dover Corporation's Pump Solutions Group (PSG), of which Neptune is one of six operating companies. Gessner joins Neptune after most recently working for Hydro Systems Company and Nova Controls, companies that are also members of the Dover Corporation's fluid solutions platform.

Tom Glazener

As a member of Ewing's education services team, Tom Glazener will serve as a full-time instructor. Tom is a Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA), Certified Irrigation Designer (CID), Certified Golf Irrigation Auditor (CGIA), Certified Landscape Water Manager (CLWM) and an EPA WaterSense partner. He is an active member of the Irrigation Association (IA), Washington Association of Landscape Professionals (WALP) and the Oregon Landscape Contractors Association's (OLCA) Legislative Committee and Expo Committee. In his new role, Glazener will offer instruction on topics including, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting, irrigation contracting, irrigation auditing, water management and business development. He will also work on course development and custom training programs for larger contractors.

Oso Valley Greenbelt Association

The City of Mission Viejo awarded a Certificate of Commendation to a Harvest Landscape project that saved 108 million gallons of water and resulted in a two-year cost savings of more than $251,000 to the Oso Valley Greenbelt Association. John Selander

John Selander, LC, assumed the office of president of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES). Mr. Selander succeeds Fred Oberkircher, LC, FIES (Emeritus, Texas Christian University). Mr. Selander received a BS degree from Michigan State University and a Master of Business Administration from Babson College, Wellesley, MA. He has been a member of the Society for twenty-five years. He is currently a member of the Detroit Section. He has served on a number of society committees; merchandise lighting, technical review council, office lighting, educational seminars, and Lighting Economics, a committee that he chaired. He is also author of Lighting Economics, an advanced level educational seminar published by the IES.

Ron Long

Hortica Insurance & Employee Benefits has announced the appointment of Ron Long as a senior account executive serving Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Western Massachusetts. He will work out of Hortica's New England sales office, located in Charlton, Mass. Hortica is a member of numerous state and national industry associations, including the Society of American Florists, American Nursery & Landscape Association, Master Nursery Garden Centers, and Professional Landcare Network.

Ventrac is excited to announce the expansion of their sales force with the addition of several new members. With over 31 years of experience in the sales and outdoor power equipment industry, T.J. Clark, Brian Carr and Ken Shave have joined the current Ventrac sales team. They will be responsible for increasing sales and growing the Ventrac dealer networks throughout their designated territories. They will focus on providing strong dealer support and maintaining excellence in customer satisfaction by listening and responding to customer requests and needs.

Shannon Savage

Borst Landscape and Design has announced that Shannon Savage has joined the landscape firm's garden maintenance division. Savage assumes the title of garden maintenance supervisor/designer and reports to Gail Tunis, Borst's perennial/annual garden designer. Savage's responsibilities will include supervising the garden maintenance crews on a daily basis and assisting Tunis with the perennial and annual flower garden designs for Borst's clients throughout northern New Jersey.

Brian Ledford

The ALL Family of Companies is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Ledford as general manager of ALL Crane Rental of Alabama, LLC, in Whistler, Alabama. With extensive experience in the crane industry, he also worked in dispatch and sales at another crane company, and is a CCO (Certified Crane Operator) through the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators.
