Michael Hofman


Janet Moyer Landscaping, a full service residential landscaping company in San Francisco devoted to sustainable practices, announced today that Michael Hofman, the company’s executive vice president, has officially completed the California Landscape Contractors Association Water Management Certification Program. CLCA-certified water managers help their customers to reduce water use and save money. Hofman’s attainment required passing a written test and then demonstrating proficiency at required levels for one year on actual landscape sites prior to achieving full certification status.

The California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA) introduced its Water Management Certification Program at the 30th Annual Landscape Industry Show With California facing critical drought conditions; CLCA’s Water Management Certification Program is intended to help today’s Green Industry professionals meet the need to reduce landscape water use.






Audwin Cash


Sol Inc. (Solar Outdoor Lighting), the world leader in Solar LED outdoor lighting announced the appointment of Audwin Cash as its vice president of marketing and engineering, reporting to Sol President and CEO, Rick Schuett. Mr. Cash brings to Sol many years of lighting industry experience, having previously been associated with Lutron Electronics Co., one of the world’s largest lighting control manufacturers, where he was responsible for developing and promoting energy efficient lighting control products and systems.

Case Construction Equipment and its employees and dealers have demonstrated their passion for helping people around the world in times of need. Time and again, Case was on the scene to provide the resources and support needed to help repair and rebuild communities in the wake of devastation worldwide. Most recently, Case provided disaster relief in Brazil. Case delivered a Case CX220 hydraulic excavator, a Case 845 motor grader, a Case 521D wheel loader and a Case 410-skid steer loader to the affected areas.






Tom Tolkacz


Tom Tolkacz, CEO of Swingle Lawn, Tree & Landscape Care, with offices in Fort Collins, received the Bob Cannon Award at the 2009 Excellence in Landscape Awards from the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado. The award honors individuals who have given loyal, dedicated service to the landscape industry.

The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) announced a new volunteer initiative called PLANET Day of Service at the general session of the Green Industry Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. The annual day of service will allow PLANET members, state associations, supplier members, and other PLANET partners to create volunteer landscape, lawn care, lighting, or tree projects that benefit their own communities.






Lofton Moore


R.D. Olson Construction President Lofton Moore announced the completion of the $5 million renovation of a Sunset Strip structure into a new home for the XIV. The restaurant is owned and operated by hospitality powerhouse SBE, and is the brainchild of SBE CEO Sam Nazarian, renowned French designer Philippe Stark and celebrated chef Michael Mina. R.D. Olson worked with Studio Pali Fekete Architects (SPF:a) of Culver City, Calif. on the space planning and architectural design.

The Irrigation Association will host the 2009 Water Conference, Water, Irrigation and the Environment, July 22 – 23 in Park City, Utah, at the Grand Summit Resort. This new event will feature presentations by industry professionals, government officials and members of academia. Topics will include climate change, water scarcity, water regulation and legislation, irrigation technology innovations, water rights conflicts and other issues facing the irrigation industry.






Guy Collignon


Guy Collignon, a 26-year veteran of the concrete industry, is being named by Pacific Southwest Concrete Alliance (PSCA) as the 2009 Promoter of the Year. Collignon is president of Enviro-Crete, a contracting company based outside Sacramento that specializes in pervious concrete. Pervious concrete is an environmentally friendly concrete that reduces storm water pollution, maximizes land use, replenishes ground water, and helps combat global warming. In two of the largest moves made in 2008 by DST Inc. (Dawes Specialized Transport) of Dawes Crane and Rigging Inc., they helped Vision Logistics move 10 giant kiln shells, three riding rings, and a massive P & H mining shovel to the Port of Milwaukee. DST utilized a fleet of heavy specialized equipment, including their 100- and 200-ton capacity lowboy trailer configurations. DST Inc. and Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental, Inc. are members of the ALL Erection & Crane Rental Corp. Family of Companies.






Damien Delozier


Techniseal, the leader in paver conditioning for 25 years, is adding two members to its representative team to assist both contractors and dealers: in the Midwest states, reporting to Phil Graves, Damien Delozier an ICPI Instructor and in the Northeast, reporting to Jim Elger, Lee Andrew Amos, an architecture graduate of Drexel University, PA.
