The Associated Landscape Contractors of America, or ALCA, has moved from its current offices in Reston, Va. to a home in nearby Herndon. The ALCA’s telephone, email and fax numbers are the same but the new mailing address is 950 Herndon Pkwy., Suite 450, Herndon, VA 20170. With the ALCA’s recent merger with the Professional Lawn Care Association of America, or PLCAA, however, the unified organization plans to announce a new name in November.

Anthony Pecci

Dewberry, a New Jersey highway and civil engineering firm, announces that Anthony S. Pecci will oversee redevelopment projects in the New York and New Jersey area. Ongoing projects include road and landscaping improvements in Newark, North Brunswick and Jersey City, N.J. and the replacement of six bridges along the New York State Throughway.

The husband and wife racing team of Janet and Jim Witt were top competitors at this year’s United States Lawn Mower Racing Association Challenge of Champions, held in Mansfield, Ohio, this Labor Day weekend. Janet Witt was voted Driver of the Year by her fellow USLMRA competitors earlier this season. The couple resides in Pensacola, Fla.

ColeJenest & Stone, an urban planning firm based in Charlotte, NC, opens a new regional office in Raleigh. Brian O’Haver leads the new office staff. The office is at 200 South Tryon St. in Charlotte.

Paul Nolan

The New Jersey engineering and consulting firm of Schoor DePalma announces a promotion for Paul K. Nolan, who is a new vice president and principal at the firm.

Blake Hall

The landscape architecture, engineering and planning firm Timmons Group’s Blake Hall is accredited as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, Professional. Hall is Project Engineer for the company’s Education Group. The accreditation program recognizes expertise in the green building industry with a professional accreditation exam.

Brian Werle

Brian Werle, Stephen Stillwell, Bill Knapp and John Hansen join the environmental planning staff at the Denver-based firm Carter & Burgess.

Kevin J. Oliver

Kevin J. Oliver is senior landscape architect overseeing a group of project managers for San Diego, Calif.’s Park and Recreation Department. He will oversee the design and construction of close to 44 park improvement projects.

James J. Novak is media relations coordinator for Turfgrass Producers International. TPI is based in Rolling Meadows, Ill.

The Professional Lawn Care Association of America, or PLCAA, hires Kristine Lenz as Green Industry Expo Sales and Marketing Manager.

The planning, technology and engineering consulting firm Berryman & Henigar welcomes Kevin Vincent as business development manager. Vincent moves from Newport Beach, Calif.-based Innovative Management Solutions.

Rachel Ray

DriWater, Inc., the manufacturer of Rain Bird Irrigation Supplement, a cellulose-based product that releases liquid water slowly over 90 days, adds Rachel Ray to their team. Ray will serve as the marketing and administrative assistant to DriWater chief Joseph Paternoster.

Robert White, formerly of E.G. Danner Manufacturing of New York, joins Lakeside Distributing Network as Vice President and National Sales Manager.

Mary Angebranndt is purchaser for Maryland-based Ruppert Nurseries. Ruppert provides commercial landscape installation in the mid-Atlantic and Atlanta, Ga. regions and operates a large wholesale tree nursery in Maryland.

Jerry Underwood joins U.S. Lawns as facilitator. He will work with franchises in Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee and Florida. U.S. Lawns is a subsidiary of ValleyCrest Companies.

Karl E. Haas

Karl E. Haas is Western Regional manager for Architectural Sales for ETC Architectural, the lighting division of Wisconsin-based ETC.

Cindy Peeples

BlueYellow, maker of a turf establishment product, announces the hiring of John Martin, Jacqueline Wurtz and Cindy Peeples. Martin, a former golf course superintendent, will support BlueYellow golf course installation customers. Wurtz will concentrate on landscape installations and Peeples will be a customer service representative. The name BlueYellow refers to the primary colors that make up green, the result when the product is correctly installed and irrigated.

Greg Culp

Greg Culp is product communications manager for Dow AgroSciences in Indianapolis, Ind. He will handle communications and will serve as media spokesman for the company, the pest-management and biotech subsidiary of Dow Chemical.

William “Deuce” Young is Dosatron International’s new southwest regional manager. Clearwater, Fla.-based Dosatron is a manufacturer of irrigation-driven chemical dispensers.

Sam Stimmel

Profile Products, LLC names Sam Stimmel director of ProfileGolf, the business unit handling Profile erosion control and soil amendment products for golf course use. Stimmel joined the company in 1998 and is based in Pittsburgh, Penn.

Vista Professional Outdoor Lighting welcomes Brian Placek as district trainer for the California counties of San Diego and Orange. Placek will lead Vista’s new contractor seminars and will work with contractors and distributors in training and field support.

Rex Lamb receives the 2004 Supplier of the Year Award from The California Association of Nurseries and Garden Centers, or CANGC. Lamb has been a territory manager for Kellogg Garden Products for seven years.

Michael N. Vanatta is international sales director and Stacie Zinn is marketing director for Environmental Turf.

Roman Fountains of Albuquerque, N.M. welcomes Dale R. Thompson as vice president of operations.
