Learn About the SITES Initiative in Boise
One-Day Educational Workshop and Project Tour - Feb. 23

The Sustainable SITES® program has been established as the authoritative source for guiding and certifying sustainable landscapes. Official recognition of sustainable practices is based on objective and rigorous planning, design, construction, and maintenance criteria that has been developed through extensive research and input by a panel of experts.

The Idaho chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council is working with Hewlett Packard to host a one-day SITES Initiative rating system workshop, including a tour of the HP campus in Boise, the first SITES rated project in Idaho. The full day event takes place on Feb. 23, 2017.

Onsite registration opens at 8:30 a.m. with the event kicking off at 9. Attendees will get a history of SITES and the structure of its rating system before touring the HP campus. Lunch is provided, and will be followed by a discussion about the HP project and other SITES projects.

An unofficial no-host happy hour at a venue to be determined will take place after the event, from 4:30 to 6.

Full attendance at the workshop will earn 6 GBCI CE hours and 6 PDH, LA CES/HSW. Professionals from nearby states are encouraged to attend this regional workshop. The audience includes professionals in ASLA, APA, AIA, USGBC, ULI, Parksmart professionals, turf and ornamental associations, as well as owners and designers of potential projects, municipal and university planning staff, parks department and grounds management professionals, sustainability directors and more.
