Peggy S. Perry


Peggy S. Perry, PhD is honored with the 2004 Ron Regan Education and Career Award. The award is presented by the California Association of Nurseries and Garden Centers for outstanding plant and horticulture education.






Rachel Ray


DriWater, Inc., the manufacturer of Rain Bird Irrigation Supplement, which helps time-release moisture, has added Rachel Ray to their team. Ray will serve as the marketing and administrative assistant to DriWater chief Joseph Paternoster.






Sam Stimmel


Profile Products, LLC has named Sam Stimmel as director of ProfileGolf, the business unit handling Profile erosion control and soil amendment products for golf course use. Stimmel joined the company in 1998 and is based in Pittsburgh, Penn.






Greg Culp


Greg Culp is the new product communications manager for Dow AgroSciences in Indianapolis, Ind. He will handle marketing communications and will serve as media spokesman for the company, which is the pest management and biotechnology subsidiary of Dow Chemical.






Peter Temko


Peter Temko is general manager for Dosatron International, Inc. Temko has a master's of business administration from Georgia Southern University and he currently resides in Palm Harbor, Fla., working out of the Clearwater headquarters.






Martin Taylor


Martin Taylor is elected the new vice-chairman of the board of directors for Syngenta. Taylor has been a member of the board of Syngenta AG since its creation in 2000. He is currently an international adviser to Goldman Sachs, in addition to being a director of RTL Group SA.






John Price


John Price is Dow AgriSciences' new technical accounts manager. He will work with Scotts, TruGreen ChemLawn and The Andersons, among others.

Devesh Singh, West Coast research manager for Barenbrug USA, has been promoted to director of research.

Syngenta Turf & Ornamental welcomes four new employees: Scott Trbovich joins the sales team representing Michigan; Steve Stansell joins as marketing manager for lawn and landscape, and aquatics, relocating to Greensboro; Bob Froelich joins the Midwest District as ornamental sales specialist; and Amy Holm joins the Northeast District as an ornamental sales specialist, located in the Philadelphia area.

Dr. James B. Beard is awarded Purdue University's highest honor of honorary doctorate. Beard has a distinguished career as a scientist, teacher and a worldwide leader in the turf grass industry.

Winners of Hunter Industries 2004 Marketing Excellence Awards go to three landscape professionals: Bryce Bousquet, vice president, Reams Sprinkler Supply of Lincoln, Neb.; Thom Davis, marketing director, Horizon – a professional landscape equipment and supply company in Phoenix, Ariz.; and Bob Fragala, owner, Stateline Irrigation Supply of Tyngsboto, Mass. Bartlett Resources manufacturers' representatives in the North Eastern U.S. now add Rain Master to their irrigation product line.

Rex Lamb is the recipient of the 2004 Supplier of the Year Award, presented by The California Association of Nurseries and Garden Centers (CANGC). This honor is awarded annually to a salesperson who maintains professional standards and renders service that is extraordinary and beneficial to nursery customers. Lamb has been a territory manger for Kellogg Garden Products for seven years.

Florida Citrus Holdings, LLC has acquired a controlling interest in Turfgrass America, the largest sod production company in the United States. The company’s primary lines of business include sod production for the landscape market, retail sod sales and sports turf production and installation. Turfgrass America has operations in Texas, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Arizona and California.
