Richard Hindle Publishes Article

Richard Hindle received his Master's in Landscape Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design. His primary research topics revolve around the combined histories, and futures, of technology, cityscapes and landscapes.

Professor of landscape architecture and environmental planning at the University of California Berkeley, Richard Hindle, has become the first landscape architect ever to publish an article in the Journal of the Patent and Trademark Office Society.

His article, titled "Inventing Venice: An Urban and Environmental Innovation Model from the Lagoon City," takes a look at the historical processes of environmental innovation, and the impact it can have, made through patent laws.

The Cal news post discussing the publication states, "The patent innovation process played an essential role in the city's urbanization by facilitating the development of advanced drainage, dredge, irrigation, and reclamation infrastructure."
