Kelly Duke Mark Hottman James Barrett Kenneth Hutcheson Eric Sjulin o Kelly F. Duke has been promoted by Environmental Industries to Vice President of Valley Crest. An 18-year veteran, former director of pre-construction services and member of the Valley Crest estimating group, Duke was part of the team that created Valley Crest's signature estimating program, proposal templates, and planning tools. o The Masonry Society (TMS), located in Boulder, Colorado, is celebrating their 25th Anniversary this year. TMS was incorporated in 1977 as a not-for-profit professional organization dedicated to the advancement of knowledge on masonry. The over 750 members include engineers, architects, educators, manufacturers, contractors, craftsmen, inspectors, and students. o The Brick Industry Association (BIA) welcomed Mark Hottman as a staff engineer. A 1998 graduate from the University of Virginia, Hottman will be providing structural engineering assistance. o Certified Brick Specialist designations were given to eight graduates of the Brick University this year. They include: Chris Bettinger of Lincoln Brick & Stone in Dearborn, Michigan; Brad Coble of L.C. Smith, Inc. in Alexandria, Virginia; Jerry Coleman of Hinkle Block & Masonry in Salyersville, Kentucky; Gino Di Lollo of Illinois Brick Company in Pensacola, Florida; Patrick Pullen of Glen-Gery Brick in Manassas, Virginia; Jason Stafford of Lincoln Brick & Stone in Grand Rapids, Illinois; and Law Stuart of South Alabama Brick Company in Mobile, Alabama. o The American Society of Irrigation Consultants (ASIC) elected James Barrett as President. Barrett has been involved in the irrigation industry since joining the golf course architecture firm of Robert Trent Jones, Inc. as an irrigation designer in 1972. In 1985 he started James Barrett Associates, Inc. in Roseland, New Jersey, where he serves as president. The ASIC also named the officers. They include: Dan Benner of Hydro Environmental, Marietta, Ga., was elected Vice-President; Dave Davis of David D. Davis & Associates, Crestline, Calif., will serve as ASIC Secretary; Bob Scott of Irrigation Consultant Services, Inc., Conyers, Ga., will be Treasurer; and Brian Vinchesi of Irrigation Consulting, Inc., Pepperell, Mass., is the Immediate Past President. o Environmental Industries, Inc. (EII) announced the promotion of Kenneth L. Hutcheson to President of U.S. Lawns a subsidiary of EII. Hutcheson formerly served as general manager and vice president for U.S. Lawns. o Eric Sjulin, Sjulin Nurseries was presented the Iowa Nurserymen's Hall of Fame Award at the 2002 INLA Annual Convention & Trade Show. Larry Waymire Carole Bork Shannon Martin Randy Milhan Mark Mullins o Nursery Supplies, Inc., a manufacturer of plastic containers for the professional grower, has announced the appointment of Larry Waymire as their Sales Manager for the Southwestern United States. Waymire will handle customer relations in Southern California and Arizona. o Carole A. Bork has been appointed to Human Resources Manager of the Astrup Company, giving her responsibility for managing all personnel matters for the company. Bork holds a bachelor's degree from Baldwin-Wallace College and a master's degree in labor relations and human resources from Cleveland State University. o North American Green has hired Shannon Martin as Southeast Regional Sales Manager. Martin will work directly with the company's wholesale distributors in the southeastern United States. His responsibilities include customer service, technical sales and field assistance. o Stellar Industries, Inc. has promoted Randy Milhan to customer service representative. Milhan will be responsible for assisting customers, troubleshooting, and taking parts orders. The company has also appointed Mark Mullins as General Sales Manager. Mullins' responsibilities include overseeing and managing the sales, customer service and marketing divisions, exploring new markets and territories, managing sales forecasts, budgets, and promotional campaigns. o NDS, Inc. announced a series of promotions within its manufacturing organization. Curtis Lewis has been promoted to NDS Vice President of Manufacturing. Lewis will be responsible for all NDS manufacturing operations. Rael Sacks has been given the responsibility of Director of Drip and Micro Irrigation Operations. Sacks will be responsible for the production of drip and micro irrigations products sold under the Raindrip name. Finally, Ken Dallara has been promoted to Plant Manager at Raindrip's Simi Valley, California plant. Dallara will be reporting directly to Sacks. o Stephen D. Ditter has been promoted to Manager - Product Development for Tecumseh Products Company's Engine & Transmission Group. Ditter has global responsibility for the planning, deployment, and market placement of new and existing engine and transmission products. oThe new Lawn & Garden Division of EnviroEdge in Huntington Beach, California, just completed the acquisition of Edge-A-Lawn Inc. of Jacksonville, North Carolina, maker of Edge-A-Lawn and Speedy Weeder garden tools.
