Drone Mapping Software Now Available at No Cost

With PrecisionHawk CEO Michael Chasen stating that drones are presently under-utilized because of cost barriers, the company has opened access to its professional mapping and analytics software, PrecisionMapper. With it, operators can upload imagery collected from a drone. Using GPS infor mation embedded within images, the software automatically stitches together an unlimited number of them to create a complete map, viewable in both 2D and 3D, and run algorithms to analyze data for industries such as construction . Users can create up to 60 surveys a year without resolution or export limits. In addition, they can add ground control points and access free analysis tools including volume calculations, 3D models and contour maps.

Free Tool Helps Calculate Construction Project Lien and Notice Deadlines

Zlien, a provider of lien law software and services, has released, for free, Lien Deadline Calculator, a new tool that lets construction pros calculate lien and notice deadlines on projects nationwide simply be entering project dates. The calculator runs off of the company's same encyclopedic lien law database, intellectual property and technological horsepower that drives both its paid core products.

Software and Hardware Packaged as Complete Drone Mapping Solution for Construction

A cloud software platform for commercial drones, DroneDeploy, has partnered with DJI -- a developer and manufacturer of drone and camera technology to bring an all-in-one UAV system to construction enterprises. The system includes a one-year Pro or Business software subscription, the Phantom 4 Pro drone and other drone accessories. With the platform and third-party tools, project managers are able to deploy drones to generate accurate site surveys with ground control points, collect aerial data to improve quality control, manage assets and reduce risk on the jobsite, create maps of jobsites to track progress and share data between teams, integrate maps and point clouds with other industry-standard software, view and analyze high-resolution maps and 3D models and bring maps into the field on mobile devices with annotated notes, photos, measurements, and more.

Durable outdoor surface adhesives manufacturer Synthetic Surfaces Inc. has a new website that offers an expanded variety of information about its products to help customers, architects, engineers and specifiers make well-informed choices for their projects. The updated "Action Pictures" page displays over 60 photos of synthetic turf, running track, watersport, playground, marine and other surfaces being installed. The "Publications" page includes a list of selected educational articles on a wide range of topics that the visitor can request for free.

Scheduling Software Designed to Help Minimize Resource Conflicts

Building on their ONE platform, B2W Schedule lets contractors centralize the scheduling and dispatching process in real time with role-specific access via mobile or desktop devices. The system intuitively identifies resource needs and conflicts, and presents solution options. Map View incorporates GPS and telematics data. It can be used with the company's other software elements for field tracking and equipment maintenance. And it has advanced analysis and scheduling functionality.
