PLANET Gives Back at the GIC

PLANET, the national trade association that represents more than 100,000 landscape industry professionals, will hold the third annual PLANET Gives Back project.

The Professional Landcare Network will hold their third annual PLANET Gives Back project, a volunteer service event, which will be held during this year's Green Industry Conference in Louisville, Ky.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 23 a group of approximately 75 PLANET member-volunteers will work to enhance the Home of the Innocents, a nonprofit shelter and pediatric convalescent center.

Volunteers will plant approximately 25 trees, spruce up the facility's playground as well as its butterfly gardens, and plant cold crops in raised vegetable beds.

"We are pleased to continue our efforts in the downtown Louisville area for the third year in a row and especially thrilled to be working with the Home of the Innocents," said Alex Fransen, PLANET Gives Back project manager. "This is a great opportunity for the PLANET members to give back to the city of Louisville, showcase their skills, improve the environment, and help solidify partnerships within the community."

The Lead sponsors for PLANET Gives Back are GIE+EXPO, Bartlett Tree Experts, Belgard Hardscapes, Blizzard Snowplows, CNA Business Insurance, Fisher Snowplows, Include Software, Nature Safe, JOHN DEERE, and Western. The Supporting sponsors are STIHL Inc. and Syngenta.
