NJ Chapter Seeks to Fill Leadership Positions


The NJASLA has opened up the nomination process for executive officer positions.

The New Jersey chapter of the ASLA is accepting nominations for leadership positions that will serve on the executive committee.

Elections will be conducted in August 2018. Officers will assume their positions October 23, 2018, to coincide with the ASLA national meeting date.

The following positions are accepting nominations:
• President elect: Will serve a three-year term consisting of president elect, president and past president. The president will be responsible for appointing committee members and other executive officers.
• 2nd vice president: Will serve as liaison for the president to standing committees. Will also represent and act for the chapter as directed by the president; serve as acting president when designated by the president or the executive committee; and perform such other duties as are customary for the office of chapter vice president or as may be assigned or delegated by the president.
• Treasurer: Will be the keeper of funds and financial records. The treasurer should also keep the official receipt book and record the source and purpose of the funds received on the stub of each receipt
• Chapter trustee: Will express the perceptions and needs of the local membership as the official delegate of a chapter, and represent the profession at large in formulating the policy of the society. A trustee must be capable of understanding and reflecting both spheres of interest. The society's bylaws set out the general duties of all officers and trustees.
