Park Conference Calls for Presentation Proposals
Georgia ASLA Members Asked to Submit

Each spring, Park Pride hosts the annual Parks & Greenspace Conference, the largest parks conference in the southeast. Through education and hands-on activities, the conference focuses on best practices for companies and individuals who are invested in parks and how they affect communities.

Members of the Georgia Chapter of the ASLA are invited to submit presentation or tour proposals for the 2019 Parks and Greenspace Conference hosted by Park Pride, which will be held March 25, 2019 at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. The theme of the conference is Parks are the Heart of Community. Applicants are asked to submit proposals for either breakout sessions or pre-conference tours.

Breakout sessions should be 60 minutes in length and can be lecture-style presentations, panel discussions or hands-on workshops. Between eight and twelve proposals will be accepted for breakout session proposals, and similar or complementary presentations may be combined into panels for a more diverse program.

Pre-conference tours will be held on the Saturday and Sunday before the conference, March 23 and 24. The applicant should propose the time, location and format of the tour. If a proposed tour is selected, Park Pride and the conference committee will offer assistance in planning and advertising the presentation.

While the presentations and tours may focus on any topic related to parks, some Park Pride-suggested topics are Parks and the Arts, Parks and Health and Parks and Equality. The target audience for proposed presentations includes design professionals, city planners, park advocates, policy makers and community members.

Submissions are due Monday, October 15 by 5 p.m. EST through online submittal. To learn more about the conference and the proposal process, visit
