LAF Symposium and Awards Dinner

The Fellows presentations will cover: public housing landscapes, legislation for resilient urban waterfronts, a landscape carbon calculator, immersive technologies, remediating coal ash ponds, cultural diversity and landscape interpretation, and environmental justice through community engagement and education.

The Landscape Architecture Foundation Innovation + Leadership symposium will take place at the Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater in Washington D.C. on June 13. The seven 2018-2019 LAF Fellowship for Innovation and Leadership recipients will present their projects to the audience. The symposium is the final presentation of the year-long LAF Fellowship for Innovation and Leadership.

This symposium is approved for 2.0 Professional Development Hours through the Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System. Presentations will be followed by a reception where guests can mingle and meet with the Fellows.

Immediately after the symposium and reception, LAF will host an awards dinner to recognize the 2019 recipients of the LAF Medal and Founders' Award. Joseph E. Brown, FASLA, will be presented with the 2019 LAF Medal, and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center will receive the 2019 Founders' Award.

Pricing to attend the symposium and awards dinner varies. The early bird price for both the symposium and dinner, which expires May 17, is $175. Regular pricing is $195. To attend the symposium only, regular pricing is $20, and pricing for students is $10. To attend the awards dinner only is $185.
