LAF Accepts Applications for 2020-2021 Fellowship
$25,000 Award For Selected Fellows

LAF Accepts Applications for 2020-2021 Fellowship

Each year, LAF selects 3-4 fellows and 2-3 Olmsted Scholar recipients for its Fellowship for Innovation and Leadership program. The year-long program helps landscape architects develop ideas that have the potential to create change in the profession, environment, and community.

The Landscape Architecture Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2020-2021 fellowship cohort. The LAF Fellowship for Innovation and Leadership is an opportunity for landscape architecture professionals to reflect, research, create, and develop ideas into projects. The program aims to bring together a diverse group of landscape architects to develop and test ideas that support innovation, cultivate transformational leadership, and foster intergenerational mentorship.

Each year LAF selects a group of fellows based on their proposed projects. Fellows receive a $25,000 financial award and participate in three 2.5-day residencies over the course of 1 year. Selected projects must demonstrate positive change to the environment and community and must show the capacity to grow leadership potential among landscape architects.

Applicants are selected based on the quality of their submission, and the project's contribution to knowledge and innovation, global effect, feasibility of objectives, potential to expand landscape architecture's leadership capacity, and mentorship opportunities.

Applications are due no later than September 15. Deliberations will take place between October and December 2019, and LAF will announce fellows in January 2020.
